A man was taken to hospital with chest pains after inhaling fumes from a defective fridge - while his neighbours were evacuated from four flats in Tonbridge.

Firefighters, police and ambulance crews raced to the flats in Lockside following a leak reported just before 1.20am on Friday, January 20.

Fire crews removed the fridge and cleared fumes with a positive pressure fan.

The injured man was taken to The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury for treatment.
