Maidstone United director of football Bill Williams says the club are enjoying their positive start to the pre-season campaign.

Back-to-back wins over Bearsted and Thamesmead have continued the feel-good factor, despite Stones’ relegation from the Ryman League, Premier Division.

Mr Williams (pictured) said: "It’s always nice to come in the next morning when the team have won."

He also said it was good to see Shaun Welford finding the net in his first appearance and linking up well with his new team-mates.

"It is exactly what you want to see and everything is feeling positive," said Mr Williams.

Midfielder Colin Richmond has returned to the club, while 19-year-old wideman Steve Brading, from Larkfield, has also joined.
