Maidstone United are expanding their academy and are holding trials for the new intake on Monday.

The Gallagher Stadium currently caters for 55 students but from September will house 90.

Chief executive Bill Williams, pictured, said: "Any school-leaver who’s serious about their football wants to be joining our academy.

"We can offer the best in coaching, education, facilities and leagues. It’s also an opportunity to be part of one of the most exciting clubs in non-league football."

Dan Johnson, Alfie Pavey, Charley Robertson and Jack Sullivan have all played for United’s first team this season, having impressed for the academy in the Conference Youth Alliance.

Students will spend five days a week at the Gallagher Stadium, studying for a BTEC Level 3 in sport and a range of football-related qualifications. These include FA Level 1 and 2 coaching badges, first aid and working with disabled players.

To register for Monday’s trials, which take place between 11am and 1.30pm, call the club on 01622 753817 or email lead tutor Alan Seamons at aseamons@maidstoneunited.co.uk
