A man arrested has been for committing an indecent act near shops.

Residents have reported seeing a man exposing along Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, in recent weeks.

Kent Police confirmed they have arrested one man.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "We were called at 8.35am on Tuesday, August 6 and arrested the 36-year-old man from Maidstone in connection with the allegations at 11pm the same day."

He remains in custody.

People said they had witnessed a man exposing himself while they were walking their children to school.
