A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft in Maidstone, after police cars descended on the town centre.

At 10.30am officers arrived at Pudding Lane, where they arrested the individual, who remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.

Some four police cars attended the incident and officers were seen patting a man down.
