Man charged after woman 'racially abused' in Earl Street, Maidstone

A man has been arrested and charged after a woman was reportedly racially abused in the street.

This incident is said to have taken place in Earl Street, Maidstone, at 1pm on Sunday, July 10.

Stephen Morris, of London Road in Maidstone, was arrested yesterday.

The 52-year-old was then charged with "using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment".

He was also charged with "racially or religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress".

He has been bailed to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 2.
