Tottenham man Mateusz Sura, 25, charged with five counts of rape after attack in Wallis Avenue, Park Wood

A man has appeared in court charged with five counts of rape following an incident in Park Wood.

Mateusz Sura, of Tottenham, was arrested on Friday following the alleged attack in Wallis Avenue at 7.20pm last Monday.

An alleyway was taped off and officers spent a day examining the scene.

The 25-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court this morning via video link.

He did not enter any pleas and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, January 16

All the charges relate to the same incident against one female victim who is not known to Sura.

Officers are still appealing for anyone with information.

This includes a white man, approximately 5ft 8ins tall with a slim build and aged between 20 and 25.

He was wearing black Chino type trousers and a black hooded top on that evening and was seen standing in a grassed area on the corner of Bell Road and Wallis Avenue between around 5.30pm and 7pm.

The man is not wanted in connection with the incident.
