CCTV image released after robbery from pensioner at garage in Maidstone

A man in his 80s was threatened with a weapon during a robbery.

Detectives have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following the incident at around 8.45am on Saturday.

The pensioner had a quantity of money stolen while he was using a cash machine at a petrol station in Ashford Road, Maidstone near its junction with Square Hill.

The victim was not injured during the incident but was threatened by a man with an unknown weapon.

Investigating officer Det Con Iain Joyce said: "We would like to hear from anybody who thinks they recognise the man in the CCTV image.

"In addition, Ashford Road was busy at the time of the incident and anyone who was travelling in this area, especially those with dash cam, may have seen something or have video footage that might assist our detectives."
