A MAN in his 30s is being held under the Mental Health Act following an incident at a mental health unit in Maidstone.
Armed police officers were called to Priority House in Hermitage Lane at about 11am on Saturday after it was reported that a man with a handgun had caused a disturbance in the reception area.
After a short time they arrested a man. He was taken to Maidstone Police Station and the weapon he was carrying was identified as an imitation handgun.
A police spokeswoman said he was not charged with any offences due to his mental state, and was subsequently sectioned.
