Laddingford floods as Kent Highways report flooding on Hampstead Lane, Yalding, and New Barn Road, Sutton Valence

Torrential downpours have led to flooding in villages around Kent.

Kent Highways has warned motorists to approach Laddingford with caution after the River Teise flooded surrounding land.

The incident follows earlier flooding in Yalding and Sutton Valence.

Water on the B2162 Hampstead Lane between Station Road and the B2015 Maidstone Road in Yalding has now subsided but there are still large puddles either side of the carriageway.

While in Sutton Valence New Barn Road is currently closed due to flooding of the carriageway, with drivers asked to use alternative routes.

Bell Lane, Smarden, is now reopen following earlier flooding.

Earlier, fresh warnings were put in place on sections of the rivers Teise, Medway and Beult by the Environment Agency.
