Hundreds of music fans were left disappointed Friday night when rap superstar Snoop Dogg pulled out of an appearance at Maidstone.

Beluga Bar had been due to host what was described as the official aftershow party following Snoop's appearance at a festival in London.

Fans had paid £20 for tickets, with some paying £100 for VIP passes. But the town centre club was forced to announce at the last minute that Snoop, real name Calvin Broadus, would not be appearing.

Beluga apologised to clubbers, stating his appearance was cancelled due to 'unforeseen circumstances'. Snoop's management cancelled his attendance at the Maidstone bar after a London festival, in which he was due to appear, failed to go ahead, a club statement said.

Police had laid on extra officers for the event which was expected to be a massive crowd-puller. Beluga Bar informed ticket holders of the cancellation via social media feeds just before 8pm Friday, but those who turned up were refunded and given free entrance. Anyone still in receipt of a ticket is being offered a full refund, the club added.
