Maidstone pensioner Cyril Waterman, 77, found near M1 after going missing

A diabetic pensioner who went missing without his medication has been found in a car park beside a motorway in north London.

Police spent the morning searching for 77-year-old Cyril Waterman, of Oxford Road, Maidstone, before he was found in a car park close to junction 2 of the M1 by a member of staff working at the site.

Kent Police has been unable to confirm the precise location but he was found shortly before 11am and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.

When he left his home to visit a relative yesterday he did not take his medicine.

Earlier today the force desperately plead for anyone using a motorway or major road in Kent or Essex to report any sightings of a silver Nissan Micra that Mr Waterman was driving.
