Fire crews were called to a recreation ground last night to attend to an incident where a bench was alight.
A call was made just before 6pm to report the picnic bench, on Gatland Lane, Maidstone, was on fire.
It was in the middle of the play area, at Gatland Park, and quickly extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel jet.
The engines left the scene at 6.18pm.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
