Kent County Show appeals for return of missing plastic pig Truffle

The hunt has begun for a missing plastic pig after it vanished at the weekend.

Organisers of the Kent County Show are appealing for Truffle the pig to be safely returned to the showground in Detling.

She disappeared at some point on the last day of the show, which took place from Friday to Sunday, July 5 to 7.

The showcase event for farming, agriculture and countryside life attracts thousands of visitors every year.

It is organised by the Kent County Agricultural Society, a registered charity with a mission is to support farming and promote education about food and the countryside.

A missing poster is appealing for the return of the “very quiet to handle” plastic pig.

It said: “Truffle, our favourite pig has gone for a little break after her busy weekend in the Living Land Village.

“Her farmyard family are missing her, and she needs to be returned to Vincent Van Goat and Milkshake.

“If you have seen her, or she's made her new home at yours, please call the show office.

“Pork Scratchings for her return, please bring our pig back.”

Since posting on Facebook, the show clarified: “Thanks for all of the concern for our pig Truffle.

“We would just like to confirm that Truffle is a plastic pig, but she’s still missed by the team and we would still like her back.”

Trufffle was last seen at the show on Sunday (July 7).
