Drivers escaped injury after a car crash in Maidstone today.

Witnesses reported a "big accident" involving "multiple cars" at the junction of Northumberland Road and Willington Street, Maidstone, just after 11am this morning and said firefighters had been sent to the scene.

Police said there were no serious injuries and the ambulance was not needed.

A police spokesman said at 1pm: "Recovery is being arranged for the vehicles."
