East Street in Harrietsham near Maidstone was sealed off after a man was struck by a vehicle

A road in Harrietsham near Maidstone was closed by police after a man was struck by a vehicle.

Officers were called to East Street in the village at around 11.30am on Saturday, after reports that a man had been hit by a vehicle.

The injured man was taken to hospital, with injuries which were not thought to be serious.

Police were at the scene until just before 2.30pm.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with GBH with intent and dangerous driving.

He is expected to appear before magistrates on Monday.
