Power cut in Maidstone caused signalling problems between Ashford and Swanley on Maidstone East line

A power cut in Maidstone knocked out local railway signalling equipment this morning.

The problems were first reported between Ashford and Swanley on the Maidstone East line.

Southeastern said the problem was temporary and were able to fix it by 11.15am.

The power outage had stopped some of the signalling equipment working at the Maidstone East line and and also at Maidstone West train station.
