A prank video showing a soldier and a police officer fighting in the County Town has become a viral hit.

Members of the public looked on in bewilderment as the pair started fighting in Maidstone's Week Street.

The video, which was uploaded earlier this week, has now been watched more than 64,000 times and has been shared hundreds of time on social media.

As crowds gathered outside McDonald's the amateur film-makers reassured onlookers that they were pranksters.

The next scene shows the same soldier approached by an officer at Maidstone West railway station.

The film was uploaded by Trollstation, a Youtube channel featuring bizarre and surreal pranks performed on unwitting members of the public.

A message on the Trollstation website says: "Our content is intentionally provocative and controversial with the aim of getting reactions from the general public in the name of comedic satire.

"Trollstation is a collective of social misfits playing mad mind games on the public."

Kent Police is looking into the video.
