Father-of-four Matthew Smith, 39, has now been sent to prison for three years after a jury convicted him of three child sex crimes.

The former cleaner took his victim to a crematorium to carry out some of the attacks.

Maidstone Crown Court heard how she reported the incident when she was a child but the case didn't proceed.

Judge Philip Statman told how years later she managed to "muster up the courage" and came forward again.

He told her the jury had believed her account of the attack and he commended her for her courage.

Smith, of Durham Close, Maidstone, who is now a carer for his wife, will also have to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register and is now subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.
