Public help pensioner during attempted robbery at shop

Members of the public came to the rescue when a pensioner was targeted for his bag by a robber outside a convenience store.

Police have launched an investigation after a man in his 60s was pushed in the back in Snodland High Street.

The suspect was black, aged 25 to 35, 6ft, of slim build and with black, short, curly hair. He was wearing a dark blue hooded top.

He approached the victim outside the shop, before shoving him in the back before attempting to grab his bag.

The suspect is said to have let go of the bag and fled the scene after being confronted by members of the public.

The attack happened at around 9am on July 21, but police have now released details as they appeal for witnesses.

They are particularly keen to speak to three members of the public who confronted the suspect.
