Pupils go the extra mile for homeless

Pupils snuck in extra food when they went to school this week.

But it wasn't a protest against school dinners, these youngsters were doing their bit for charity.

More than 730 tins and packets were collected by students at Maidstone Grammar School in Barton Road for our Christmas You Can Help campaign.

The quid and a can day, this year organised by Challenger house, also saw pupils wearing their own clothes in exchange for £1. This raised £1,700, which will be shared between several local charities.
