Linton Hill, Maidstone: Road closed after house fire

Dozens of firefighters tackled a blaze which left a home badly damaged.

Crews dealt with the fire in the roof of a two-storey cottage in Linton Hill, Linton, near Maidstone.

Six fire engines, a height vehicle and a bulk water carrier were sent to the scene just before 4pm.

They also used compressed air foam, two main jets and two hose reel jets.Crews have carried out salvage work in the ground floor of the property and are working hard to contain the blaze.There are no reported injuries and the fire was believed to have started accidentally.Meanwhile, the A229 Linton Road in Maidstone was shut following the fire around Heath Road but has since reopened.
