A community village shop has been targeted by thieves for a second time in four weeks.

Two men went into the Shop on the Green in Chart Sutton at around 11am yesterday, and demanded money from the cashier. They left empty handed.

But a month ago to the day - on Thursday, June 7 - two men also went into the shop, threatening volunteers with a knife, and left with a small amount of cash.

Police have released descriptions of the two men from this week's incident. The first is described as a black man, 18-20 years-old, 5ft 8ins tall, with short shaved hair and was wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

The second was a white man, 5ft 8in tall, with short ginger hair.
DC Andrew Felton from Kent Police said: "The shop was set up by the community, for the community, and is run by volunteers and has now been targeted twice. We are examining CCTV footage and working with the local community to promptly arrest anyone suspected of being involved. I would urge anyone with information to come forward and help us."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Kent Police on 101, quoting crime reference YY/10096/12. Alternatively, contact Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
