A man who had a sudden heart attack on his journey home from London Victoria had his life saved by Southeastern employees and passers-by.

Staff dialled 999 and used a defibrillator to revive Mr Legg, who had arrived at station with his partner, Natalie Bresler.

Paramedics were soon on the scene and quick to praise the efforts of the station team for their fast-thinking and bravery.

One paramedic who was called to the scene, wrote to Southeastern to "convey his admiration for the response of Southeastern’s station staff".

He added without their help, Mr Legg would not be alive today.

Matthew Fraser, Southeastern station manager at Maidstone East said: "Not only was the situation deeply stressful for Stuart and Natalie, but while at a train station with other passengers looking on, the Southeastern team acted professionally to ensure the safety of Stuart, Natalie and to co-ordinate effectively with the public to control the situation."

Miss Bresler has since thanked staff, while Mr Legg is said to be recovering well at home.
