The French students and their teachers spent the morning at Holmesdale and were given tours of the school, with all commentary in French, by Holmesdale’s GCSE students.

The head of languages at Holmesdale, Angela Riley, said "It was a great day, benefitting both French and English students.

"Once again, it has been a great pleasure for the school to be involved in the Twin Town celebrations and we look forward to taking some of our students to France again next year."

The French tourists were accompanied by the Rev Hugh Broadbent.
