A police tweet said the chase reached speeds of more than 110mph on the London-bound carriageway, before the suspect raced onto the A20.

The car was brought to a halt after officers deployed a stinger in Ditton, near West Malling.

All in all, the pursuit lasted around 10 minutes and ended up with the teen suspect, from the Dartford area, being arrested on suspicion of five offences.

These included dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

He has been released pending further investigation.
