Tommy Warrilow plans to talk to his players about the advantages of private medical insurance amid fears that defender Sonny Miles might miss the start of the new Blue Square Bet South season.

The talented young defender is still waiting to undergo a hernia operation on the National Health Service, and will require at least three weeks rehabilitation afterwards.

Warrilow (pictured) said: "It’s going to be a big ask for Sonny to be ready. We have looked at going private, but that doesn’t come cheap.

"I want to get somebody in to talk to the boys about it, because I think it’s a step they have got to take."

The new 2012-13 fixtures published this week have handed Tonbridge an opening day start at Maidenhead on August 18. Salisbury are first at Longmead three days later, followed by a Bank Holiday double-header at home to Welling and away to Bromley.

Despite not looking to add to his squad, Warrilow is still getting calls from players and agents.

"I can’t compete with some of the figures flying about. We are still a small fish in a big pond, but I would put my squad up there with the best."
