Tonbridge Angels climbed out of the Blue Square Bet South relegation places with a 1-0 home win against Staines on Saturday.

Boss Tommy Warrilow, pictured, was grateful to leading striker Frannie Collin who scored an eighth-minute goal to move Angels up to 18th, three points clear of the drop zone.

Two chances fell to Mikel Suarez as Angels looked to extend their lead before half-time.

Henry Muggeridge was denied by smart defending from a Nathan Green cross after the break and had a long-range strike saved.

There was a let-off for Angels when stand-in keeper Scott Chalmers-Stevens reacted well to prevent an Olly Schulz own goal.
