Tommy Warrilow believes that Tonbridge Angels’ 10-0 thrashing at the hands of Brentford could prove a blessing in disguise.

Although the Angels manager was "shocked and embarrassed" by last Saturday’s performance against the League 1 side, he insisted: "Hand on heart, I can honestly say it did us a favour because I learnt a lot more than I would have done if we had

"It’s a massive reality check and perhaps we needed it after winning promotion (last season).

"I had a good chat with the players after Tuesday’s training session and explained what had gone wrong on Saturday, but it’s not a case of 'panic stations’.

"I still believe in them, and you’ve also got to take your hats off to Brentford because they were superb and showed what a League team will do to you if you let them."

On Saturday Tonbridge travel to Kent League Beckenham and Warrilow (pictured) will be missing five players. Jon Main, Ben Judge, Frannie Collin, Jon Heath and Sonny Miles are all unavailable, but Danny Walder is likely to figure again after coming on for the second half against Brentford despite his on-going back problem.

Goalkeeper Lee Worgan will also be back after returning from holiday.
