Inconsistency remains a source of frustration for manager Tommy Warrilow, who saw his Tonbridge Angels side follow up last Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Welling with a limp midweek defeat at Salisbury.

Goals either side of half-time from Stuart Anderson ensured the Angels left Wiltshire empty-handed and Warrilow, who praised his players for their efforts against the high-flying Wings, was critical after Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat.

"That’s two Tuesdays on the spin we’ve put in poor performances," said Warrilow (pictured).

"The first half was much of a muchness, it wasn’t the best, but they got the break on half-time with the penalty decision which gave them a bit of a lift.

"I was looking for a better second-half performance but too many players didn’t turn up on the night. After the Welling game, I expected us to have a bit of a spring in our step.

"I didn’t expect us to deteriorate, I put the subs on to get the momentum going, but it wasn’t working.

"Our passing was poor, we were kicking the ball out of play and there were no options on for the man with the ball."
