Fight breaks out in Bank Street, Maidstone

A fight broke out in a town street with two men seen striding around carrying weapons.

The ruckus happened in Bank Street, Maidstone this morning among three people.

Two were holding nunchucks and one had a knife.

An eyewitness added: "It sounded like shouting was in an Eastern European language and people passing by were stopped in their tracks.

"Two men were bearing nunchucks and waving them around.

"All three were shouting and gesturing before one man locked himself in the door next to doo das hair salon in Maidstone, leading to what looks like a block of flats.

"Even then, the other two came back and started hammering on the door."

The shouting lasted for about five minutes and the incident came to an end when the two men walked off.

A Kent Police spokesman said the force was called just before 11am, adding: "Officers attended the scene and searched the area, however the men had left prior to the arrival of patrols.

"No offences have been disclosed at this stage and enquiries into the incident are continuing."
