Maidstone: Travellers move into Asda Living car park in St Peter's Street

Travellers have moved into a busy town centre car park, causing delays to traffic.

Two caravans parked up close to Asda Living in St Peter's Street, Maidstone, earlier this morning.

Wendy from Maidstone, who was shopping at the retail park, said: "I don't understand how they're allowed to park here for so long. If shoppers spend over three hours in the car park, we're hit with a massive fine."

The land is privately owned and it's the landlord's responsibility to remove the caravans.

Bailiffs are expected to serve a removal order this afternoon.

Yesterday, the same group were reportedly parked in the Wickes car park, opposite Asda Living.
