Details of the tragedy were given at an inquest at County Hall last Thursday.

Area coroner for Mid Kent and Medway, Bina Patel, heard from a pathologist who said the cause was “sudden adult death”.

Mr Davis is understood to have worked for record label Love & Other.

Since his death, friends have contributed more than £13,000 to a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for a commemorative headstone for him.

The fundraiser’s organiser said: “We have been totally overwhelmed by all the donations and this has alleviated a huge burden.

“Your contributions will enable us to provide Cal with a beautiful memorial in the Rose Garden, at Randall’s, Leatherhead.

“A peaceful place to visit him and have a chat. We will never forget this incredible gesture from you all.”

Donations also helped fund his funeral and wake.

Harriet Guildford, Callum’s girlfriend, paid tribute to him on Facebook.

She said: “I have sometimes questioned the need for posts like this, but now I understand.

“I have the urge to scream it from the rooftops, to share the pain and love with everyone around me. Callum was everything to me since I was 18 years old.

“He was a beautiful, talented, funny, kind soul. My best friend, my love and the only one who truly understands me.

“You have left a gaping hole in so many people’s lives and there will forever be a part of me missing.”

Mr Davis had Covid-19 at the time of his death, but it is not thought this directly related to his death.

The inquest has been adjourned to resume on Thursday, May 26, at County Hall.
