Tube flasher jailed for three years after Maidstone arrest

A man has been jailed after he exposed himself on the London Underground and performed an indecent act in front of other passengers.

David Cook, of no fixed address, was arrested in Maidstone following in the incident on the Piccadilly tube line.

Last Thursday, the town's crown court heard how the 62-year-old committed the offence at about 5.30pm on Saturday, July 6, in front of a woman and other people in the carriage.

He left the train at Kings Cross station and travelled to the county, where he was later arrested by police.

Cook pleaded guilty and admitted breaching a Sexual Prevention Order (SOPO).

He was sentenced to three years in prison and is banned from travelling on the underground network.

Investigating officer PC Paul Franklin said: “This was an intimidating experience for the victim and I’d like to commend her for assisting officers during the investigation, which was vital to securing David Cook’s conviction.

“Cook is now in prison for his disgusting behaviour and will no longer be able to travel on the London Underground network.”
