A two-tonne bull thanked rescuers who worked
through the night to winch him to safety - by charging at them!

RSPCA workers joined with firefighters from
Faversham fire station green watch after the bull fell into the
dyke at Holborough Marshes in Snodland.

The bull was up to his shoulders in mud and
water, and a vet, RSPCA officers and firefighters worked for hours
between Sunday night and Monday morning to lift him.

Eventually they put him into a harness
and got him to his feet.

Peter Camble, Green Watch manager at Faversham
Fire Station said: “We used our large animal rescue unit and a
crane. All our operatives there were animal rescue specialists and
had all been trained to do this kind of rescue. We used the crane
and slings to drag the bull out of the water. It was good to work
so closely with the RSPCA.”

ACO Brown said: “It was very long, emotional
job. The poor bull was totally exhausted and we did not know if he
would make it. But eventually when he was back on his feet again he
actually charged at me, so he was fine!”

The bull is owned by a local farmer.
