Two lanes were blocked on a one-way system following a crash.

A bin lorry and a van were involved in the accident, which happened on the A229 Bishops Way in Maidstone.

Lanes one and two out of three were blocked on the approach to the bridge in the town centre.

KCC Highways warned drivers of delays on the one-way system and confirmed police were attending.

A spokeswoman from the force said: “Officers were called at 12.10pm to a collision between a van and a dustcart on Broadway, Maidstone.

“Officers attended the scene, where no injuries were reported.

“Arrangements were made to recover the vehicles.”

The road was cleared at around 12.45pm and traffic has since returned to normal.
