Ashley Jackson will represent England in the forthcoming EuroHockey Nations Championship in Amsterdam.

The 21-year-old midfielder, pictured, from West Malling is hoping to add to his 27 caps during the tournament, where England will be hoping to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in New Delhi.

England must finish in the top four to qualify and are in a tough group. They face Austria on August 23 before playing Olympic champions Germany the following day. They end the group stage with a game against Belgium knowing a top-two finish will take them to the semi-finals and qualification for the World Cup.

England enter the tournament following a successful three-match Test series against India at the University of Birmingham, where Jackson was one of the form players.

He scored four times in two games, taking his total international goals tally to 15.
