Two women have been arrested after allegedly trying to sell jewellery back to a shop it had been stolen from.

A business in Bank Street, Maidstone, reported the theft of a gold wrist bangle on Monday.

Officers were then called to the shop the next morning after two women were reported to have attempted to sell the item back to the store.

The women, aged 22 and 25 and from Maidstone, were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, and have been released pending further investigation.
