Are your cupboards and wardrobe groaning with extra winter woollies and food which you know you won’t get to wear or eat?
If so, you can give some of them to a good home, while also giving yourself a warm glow this New Year, by donating to our You Can Help appeal.
The Kent Messenger’s annual festive campaign, in association with the Maidstone Day Centre in Knightrider Street, Maidstone, is running until the beginning of January, so people can give after Christmas too.
Already, shoppers have been generous at supermarkets across the area, with collection trolleys groaning under the weight of donations and schools have been handing over piles of tins by the bucket load.
But there is still time to donate. There are collection boxes and trolleys at shops and venues across the area, including the Kent Messenger’s offices at 6 & 7 Middle Row, Maidstone, which is open to the public again on Tuesday.
You can also donate at: Tesco Express, Loose Road; Iceland, the Mall Chequers; Morrisons, Sutton Road and New Hythe Lane, Larkfield; Tesco, Farleigh Hill, Tovil and Lunsford Park, Larkfield.
You can also pledge money to the homeless centre by mobile.
The day centre has signed up to Just Text Giving. Pledge any amount by writing mdc33 in a text, then the amount to donate, and send to 70070.
For example text mdcc335, in the body of the message to pledge £5 or mdcc332 to donate £2.
