Maidstone United add third training session to boost National League survival bid

Maidstone have brought in an extra training session as they fight to stay up.

They have added Monday nights to the regular Tuesday and Thursday sessions in the hope it will help them survive in the National League.

It's something United were looking to introduce next season but with all to play for at the foot of the table, manager Jay Saunders has brought plans forward.

He'll run the third session as often as possible.

He said: "If we can do Mondays as well, we will do.

"It’s hard sometimes because the players all work but as much as we can, we’ll get them in from now until the end of the season.

"It just gives us a little bit more time to work on things.

"This week just gone we were able to sit and watch part of the Solihull game and go through a few things, which was nice.

"Obviously when you’re doing two nights you’ve got no chance of doing that.

"If we can do it again this week it maybe gives us a chance of doing some stuff on York so it does benefit you but it’s something that’s not always possible."
