We haven’t quite gone for a Maidstone United XI but there’s a strong Stones contingent after their amazing 2-1 win at Championship side Ipswich in the FA Cup.

First up in goal is Maidstone keeper Lucas Covolan who made numerous saves at Portman Road in a man-of-the-match display.

Stand-in Dover skipper Jacob Mensah helped Whites to a clean sheet and a big three points in a 1-0 home success over Slough in National League South.

Maidstone defender Paul Appiah threw his body on the line in a terrific rearguard display at Ipswich.

Dean Beckwith scored and was named man-of-the-match as second-placed Chatham thrashed Canvey 5-1 in Isthmian Premier.

And it’s no mean feat to keep Ramsgate out in Isthmian South East, but that’s exactly what Connor Wilkins and his Sheppey team-mates did in their goalless Isthmian South East draw.

Having scored on his return from suspension in midweek, Faversham midfielder Sam Hasler was at it again on Saturday with a brace in their 4-1 Southern Counties East win at Fisher.

Not content with a winner in the FA Cup Third Round, Sam Corne has done it in the Fourth Round as well for Maidstone. He didn’t stop running all afternoon and netted a goal that will go down in Stones folklore.

Deal’s Macauley Murray scored one and made one in their 2-0 weekend win at Welling Town, it’s now two defeats in 26 matches in all competitions.

A hat-trick from Ollie Freeman was the highlight of Bearsted’s excellent 6-1 victory at Holmesdale in Southern Counties East.

Tom Derry bagged a first-half brace as Folkestone took a point from a 3-3 Isthmian Premier draw with Carshalton.

Maidstone’s Lamar Reynolds - who else - makes up our XI. He picked an opportune time to score a breathtaking first goal of the season and also set up Corne’s winner with his interception and pass.

No prizes for guessing that Maidstone manager George Elokobi is our top boss this week after leading the National League South side into the last 16 of the FA Cup. Congratulations, George.
