Maidstone are in no rush to replace Alex Brown following the midfielder’s move to Leatherhead.

Stones make the long trip to Weston-super-Mare in National League South on Saturday with manager Jay Saunders happy with his options.

He said: “Joe Healy has been outstanding all season, James Rogers is doing well in holding midfield and we’ve also got Dan Sweeney and Jack Paxman who can play in there.

“Never say never, but we’ve got a decent squad and there’s no rush to get anyone else."

Alex Flisher will miss Weston but is likely to resume training on Tuesday following hamstring problems. Stones have no other injury worries ahead of their second visit to Somerset in a fortnight, winning 2-0 at Bath last time out.

Weston have climbed out of the relegation zone after a poor start but second-placed Maidstone have won their last three games.

Saunders said: “I’ve spoken to a lot of people about Weston. I remember Daryl McMahon at Ebbsfleet saying they played unbelievable football but lacked a cutting edge.

“Of late they’ve been banging them in but we set the standard with our performance at Bath and if we play like that again we should be okay.”
