Maidstone United ask Tristan Lewis and Simon Walton to continue as caretaker managers

Tristan Lewis and Simon Walton will continue as Maidstone's caretaker managers.

They've been invited to stay on following a board meeting this afternoon, having won two of their first three games in charge.

Stones chief executive Bill Williams said: “Tristan and Simon have done well since stepping up a fortnight ago and we’ve asked them to continue in that caretaker capacity.

“They have the backing of the board and I for one hope they will build on these first few games and get us moving up that league table.”

Lewis and Walton have led the Stones to 1-0 and 2-1 victories at Boreham Wood and Hartlepool respectively, losing 1-0 to Dover on New Year's Day.

The directors intend to consider all their options and will make a further announcement by the end of the month.
