Courtney Tulloch helps Great Britain to silver in the European Gymnastics Championships

Maidstone's Courtney Tulloch helped Great Britain secure a silver medal at the European Gymnastics Championships in Bern.

The 20-year-old, along with teammates Kristian Thomas, Dan Purvis, Nile Wilson and Louis Smith finished with 268.4 points, finishing behind winners Russia and ahead of hosts Switzerland.

GB increased their score from qualifying but finished almost three points behind Russia.
Tulloch score more than 15 on the rings, while Smith, on pommel, and Wilson, on parallel bars, both had scores of 15.966.

There were also scores of more than 15 for Wilson on rings, Purvis on floor and Thomas on vault.

Tulloch also finished joint fourth on the rings in the individual competition on Sunday, just missing out on another medal.

He said: "It was an amazing rings final, an honour to compete in, I take a lot of positives from this."

The event was the last major competition before the Rio Olympics team selection is announced on July 12.
