Tonbridge could have a new centre-forward in their squad for Saturday's crucial home game against Whitehawk.

Only three points separate the clubs in the lower reaches of Skrill South, with Angels hovering just above the drop zone.

Tommy Warrilow’s side have scored just 11 goals in 10 league games so far and the manager has spent this week trying to sign a striker.

He said: “I want to bring in a fresh face up front, to give us a little bit of a boost. We’re not scoring enough goals. I’ve got one player in mind. I’ve missed out on some. They’ve fixed themselves up at other clubs.”

Tonbridge, still reeling from their FA Cup exit at the hands of St Albans, haven’t won in the league since August but Warrilow is staying positive.

He said: “Although we haven’t won in five, we haven’t lost all five. Some people try to add more to it with negative stats. We’re only 10 games into the season. The league’s still relatively tight.”

Henry Muggeridge and Nathan Green are doubtful for Saturday, while Philip Appiah has been ill this week.
