Long queues and Covid marshals at Leybourne Lakes Country Park as visitors make most of warmer weather

A woman has blasted "covidiots" cramming into a burger van queue in the warmer weather while Covid Marshals stationed at the park looked on.

Leigh Holmes was walking around Leybourne Lakes Country Park in Malling Road, Snodland, earlier today when she spotted the huge line for food.

The dog walker was shocked to see the crowded line and more shocked to see marshals watching on.

She said: "Visitors flocked to the burger van, cramming into a queue as they looked on.

"I asked why they weren't sorting it out and they said 'what do you expect?"

Ms Holmes claims the marshals said if everyone was spread out 2 metres apart the line would be too long.

She added: "I told them it's a global pandemic and it's their job to protect people, not walk about feeling important in their role, doing nothing.

"They then asked me and my fiancé if we were were from the same household as we were out walking our dog."

More than 25 people were pictured queueing in the sun in what seems to be a familiar trend this weekend of people getting out of their homes to enjoy the warmer weather.

In Medway a country park was forced to closed part of its site "for safety reasons" when visitor numbers got too high.
