Leybourne: Hunt for Ford Fiesta driver who smashed into police car on routine patrol then sped away

Officers are appealing for help in tracking down a driver who smashed their Ford Fiesta into a police car in Leybourne before speeding off afterwards.

The incident took place in Birling Hill, between the junctions of Holly Hill and Paddlesworth Road, at around 4.55pm on Monday.

No injuries were sustained, but the driver's door and wing mirror of the police car were damaged.

The other vehicle involved is described as being a black Fiesta and it is reported to have made off at speed following the incident.

The police vehicle was on a routine patrol and not responding to a specific incident.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area at the time who may have dash camera footage of the car being driven in the area.
