Subway to open in former Barclays in Larkfield

A Subway is set to open next week in a former Barclays.

The pair of units that were once home to the bank in London Road, Larkfield, have been given a new lease of life and will open as a branch of the sandwich chain on Wednesday, August 31.

Reja Restaurants Ltd applied for planning permission to make changes to the building so it could accommodate a Subway.

There was a mixed response to the news from people on Facebook.

Hannah Savoury said she “loves a Subway” while Sarah Bourne is looking forward to one of its salads.

But Michael Feeley said he would have preferred an independent pizza place or kebab shop.

Up until now, Subway fans’ nearest branch would have been the one next to Maidstone Hospital.
