Properties across Tonbridge and Malling, including West Malling, Aylesford and Wrotham, burgled

Kent Police has issued advice to reduce the chance of burglary after a number of commercial properties across Tonbridge and Malling have been targeted.

On Monday, April 4, the police received seven reports of businesses in Aylesford, West Malling and Wrotham targeted by thieves.

Staff are being advised to take measures in an attempt to reduce the number of crimes.

Officers are recommending business owners consider identifying areas vulnerable to forced entry, and plan regular checks, regularly check CCTV cameras and alarms are working as well as removing high value goods.

They are also saying that as little cash as possible should be kept on site overnight and tools should also be removed from vehicles.

The properties targeted were:

  • A garage in London Road, Aylesford, is reported to have been targeted between midnight on April 3 and midnight on April 4. A variety of tools are reported to have been stolen.
  • A premises in Puttenden Road, Shipbourne, is reported to have been burgled between 5pm on April 1 and 8.30am on April 4. A digger and a trailer are reported to have been stolen.
  • A premises in Mills Road, Aylesford, is reported to have been targeted between 11am on April 1 and 8.30am on April 4. Batteries and a variety of tools are reported to have been stolen.
  • An outbuilding in Green Lane, Trottiscliffe, is reported to have been targeted between 4pm and 9.15pm on April 3. A wire fence and digger are reported to have been damaged.
  • An outbuilding in London Road, West Malling, is reported to have been burgled between 10.30pm and 10.50pm on April 3. A padlock and doors are reported to have been damaged.
  • A premises in Comp Road, Wrotham Heath, is reported to have been targeted between 1.40am and 2.30am on April 4. No items are reported to have been stolen but a padlock is reported to have been damaged.
  • A premises in London Road, Wrotham, is reported to have been burgled between 4pm on 2 April and 6.30am on April 4. Half a drum of diesel is reported to have been stolen
