Police and paramedics dealt with the incident and a person was treated at the scene for an arm injury.

Just 10 minutes later the emergency services were called into action again at the same location after a crash between a car and a lorry.

No injuries were reported for the second accident, but two lanes were closed as emergency workers cleared the area.

Debris was left on the road and the hard shoulder following the crashes.

Just before midday, Highways England tweeted to say the route was clear and delays were easing.
